Well, I was at my grandson's first birthday party and had made him a cute shaker card that everyone thought was really clever. Well, one lady looked at the card and commented, "boy, someone has a lot of time on their hands!" Ever since it has become a standing joke at our Mothers' card class - - hence the name "Have Time On My Hands."Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17909563312292394667noreply@blogger.comBlogger13125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2915958706012922557.post-28110656891441433342012-04-29T12:11:00.002-07:002012-04-29T12:15:36.012-07:00

I made both of these cards using the herringbone technique, which I learned at our Mom's class from my friend Doris. See her blog at the Stamping Tower, under my list of followers. She has some wonderful techniques that I'm sure you will enjoy.Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17909563312292394667noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2915958706012922557.post-1284129797765238702012-04-29T12:06:00.001-07:002012-04-29T12:06:12.615-07:00ANGRY BIRD CARD

Here are some fun cards I created using a stamp set from My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com). These cards were a lot of fun to make, since my grandson loves dinosaurs! I will be giving one of these to him for his birthday in April. These are 3 flower pot cards I made for spring and summer using Lynn Larson's tutorial at www.learntostampandscrap.com . Her instructions are very easy to follow. I used paper from K & Co. for the pot design and for the flowers. All I did was punch the flowers out using my scalloped circle punch. I ran some of the flowers through the CB using the polka dot folder and the swirl folder. I decorated with buttons and gems. I attached the flowers to a piece of CS, which fits inside the pot, using double stick tape. I popped up the center flower with a pop dot to give it some dimension. I cut out a butterfly made of vellum, glittered it and decorated the center with pearls. I cut out the leaves freehand and attached them to the flowers. Just remember to make sure the flowers and leaves fit in the envelope that you're using. I used adhesive ribbon on two of the pots and tied regular decorative ribbon on the middle pot. These cards are very easy to create and great to give for birthdays, Easter, Mother's Day, etc. Have fun!

Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17909563312292394667noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2915958706012922557.post-42550409640185150632011-03-04T13:40:00.000-08:002011-03-04T13:41:32.483-08:00POPPIES 1

This card was stamped with a negative image stamp from Hero Arts using a chunky gold glitter embossing powder. It was then double mounted and attached to black cardstock. I then stamped and embossed the bottom of the card with the positive stamp of the same image using gold glitter embossing powder. This is a card I made for my very good stamping friend Doris. The stamp I used is a Penny Black stamp colored with Copic markers. This is my first try using my Copics. I thought I'd start with something easy. I received a set of basic colors for Christmas and couldn't wait to try them. I need to buy more so I can do the shading, plus I need some skin tones. I used chalks for her skin and cheeks. For the background I ran red cardstock through my CB using the polka dot folder. The white strip was done with a MS punch on both sides of the strip. I used a red polka dot ribbon to finish it off - - - and done! I hope you like this.

Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17909563312292394667noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2915958706012922557.post-28192986604949395532011-02-03T08:02:00.000-08:002011-02-04T11:43:18.559-08:00Valentine cards

The first one I got the idea for was from one of Dawn's tutorials here for a pinwheel card. The second and third cards I made using the weaving technique which was taught by my friend Doris, who designs wonderful cards. The love stamp is a CB folder, then gems, tiny hearts and a bow was added. The third card is a quilting technique that we learned in one of our mothers classes. The last card is a card that was designed by Doris and this card we're going to make at our next Mother's class (if it doesn't snow!). We used the weaving technique again and the stamp was stamped lightly with black India ink and colored with markers. Pearls were added to the tiny flowers, Love was stamped in the left hand corner and a red embroidery floss bow and tiny hearts were added.Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17909563312292394667noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2915958706012922557.post-67172128393314496342011-02-01T20:17:00.000-08:002011-02-04T11:39:04.925-08:00ACCORDION CARD

This is an accordion card that I made for my granddaughter's graduation from kindergarten. She absolutely loved it since she is a huge fan of Hello Kitty. The card is from a kit from Papercut. They were blank cards that were already scored. I used papers from DCWV called Nana's Kids and designed it myself.Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17909563312292394667noreply@blogger.com1
